Joe Stemo Ball Field Dedication

On Tuesday, January 23, 2024, the Town of Bennett was honored to unveil and dedicate the Joe Stemo Ball Field. More than 50 people attended the dedication, including Joe's family and friends, current Bennett High School baseball players, the Town Board of Trustees and Town staff.

The field is located at the Bennett School district. Stemo came to Bennett in the 1980s and was an integral part of building the field. He has spent countless hours helping maintain the field, as well as coaching baseball.

"This field is a testament to Joe’s commitment to shaping the lives of young athletes and fostering a love of the game," said Mayor Royce Pindell. "We hope this field continues to inspire generations to come, just as Joe Stemo has inspired all of us."

Town Of Bennett Transitioning Safety Services

The Town of Bennett is set to embark on a strategic shift in law enforcement services as it transitions its law enforcement contract to ensure complete safety services coverage for our residents.

The Town of Bennett is currently working on options including to expand its relationship with the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office to extend their area of service to encompass all of incorporated Bennett.

After working in good faith with the Adams County Sherriff’s Office on a renewed contract agreement for services in 2024, the Town of Bennett Board of Trustees will not proceed due to an impasse in budget and resource negotiations.

The Town of Bennett anticipates the Adams County Sheriff’s Office will fulfill its obligation to continue to service the Town of Bennett residents as Adams County taxpayers and will work with the Town toward a smooth transition. Residents can expect continued emergency safety services throughout this transition process. The Town of Bennett is committed to keeping the Town a safe community for each and every one of our valued neighbors.

This transition plan is being conducted with careful consideration and regular updates on service will be provided to keep all residents informed. More information and updates regarding the Town’s safety services will be shared as it becomes available.

To learn more, please review our FAQs regarding this transition here.

This software allows for the creation of a digital budget book for 2024, as well as transparency tools for Town of Bennett residents. The goal of this digital budget book is to promote transparency and provide easy access to the Town’s budget, as well as strategic goals for the year.

ADA Self-Evaluation And Transition Plan

The Board of Trustees recently adopted the Town of Bennett Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Self-Evaluation and Transition plan. The plan provides a comprehensive review of access for persons with disabilities at Town facilities, parks, right-of-ways, services, activities, events, website, etc. This plan is also a guide for the planning and implementation of programs and facility modifications for compliance with the ADA requirements. ADA transition plans are a federally mandated requirement by Title II – State and Local Governments of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The Town of Bennett has budgeted to begin implementation of approvals and modifications in 2024.
